Lawson State Hosts Annual Career and Community Resource Fair

Hundreds of area residents are expected to attend the upcoming Career and Community Resource Fair set for Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Bessemer Civic Center. The annual event, organized by the Office of Career and College Transfer Services, is free and open to the public.

"We are privileged to have a range of employers join us from various industries," said Akilh Haley, career and transfer services specialist at the college. "This is a prime opportunity for participants to take advantage of networking opportunities while making new connections."

Law enforcement, local companies, national corporations, area nonprofits, and the military are among the 50 groups expected to have tables or booths at the event. Beyond employment opportunities, those who attend can also receive a free health screening, courtesy of Lawson State nursing students.

"At the end of the day, we want to help people improve their lives," said Ms. Haley, "and that includes promoting community and personal well-being. There will be something at the fair for everyone."
