Choosing to major in the Social Sciences can lead to careers and lucrative jobs in criminal justice, politics, law, psychology, sociology, social work, education and urban planning, to name just a few areas. With a social science career path, you can expect to develop a versatile skill set that you can transfer to different roles and industries. Depending on your area of concentration, your social sciences pathway will transfer so you can complete your four-year degree at a college or university.
Our Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate and Science (AS) in History are two-year degrees range from 60 to 64 transferable credits. That means that once you graduate from Lawson State, you will be able to enter your four-year college of choice as a junior and secure a 4-year degree. To increase your earning power, many Social Science students continue their education and get their Masters degrees and doctorate degrees in the select majors, so the "sky is the limit".
All social and behavioral AA and AS degrees are backed and protected by Alabama Transfers (Learn More).
