The Alabama Center for Automotive Excellence is a world-class training program at Lawson State with the ultimate goal of training and placing certified technicians in their new careers. The Center includes seven programs: Auto Body/Collision Repair, Automotive Mechanics, Medium/Heavy Truck Technician, and four Automotive Service Technology programs that are manufacturer specific - Ford ASSET, GM ASEP, Tech by Mercedes-Benz, and Toyota T-TEN.
The Lawson State Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program has received the HVAC Excellence program accreditation. This accreditation confirms that the program has proven itself to meet the HVAC/R industry standards set by the ESCO Institute, and the program lessons and education process offer students the content required as well.
The Mechatronics Program at Lawson State has been designated a Mechatronics Center of Excellence by the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3). The NC3 certification is nationally recognized as the standard for certifications and workforce development.
