Cosmetology

The Cosmetology and Salon Management program is designed to be the road to success in the cosmetology industry. The Cosmetology program provides instruction and training in hair cutting, styling, bleaching, and coloring; shampoos and rinses; permanent waving; skin, facials, and makeup; manicures, pedicures, and nail care; and sanitation and sterilization.

Benefits of Choosing Cosmetology

Students in the Cosmetology program have opportunities to network with industry partners to learn of latest trends and to participate in community service and outreach opportunities. The program provides opportunity for students to gain practical experience through on the job learning and instructor supervised live work labs.  Graduates are prepared to take the Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Barbering licensure exam.

We offer every student the opportunity to learn in a real world setting which allows them to explore their creativity and identify specialized areas they may choose to further explore as a licensed practitioner.

Program Requirements

This program offers a Certificate and an Associate in Occupational Technologies Degree in Cosmetology with a minor in Business Management.

This degree is designed for students seeking to become multi-skilled technicians. The AOT includes both a primary technical specialty and a secondary technical specialty. 

The long certificate better prepares you to enter the workforce.
