Barbering

The Barbering program provides instruction and training in hair cutting, styling, and coloring; shaving; and skin care. The curriculum is aligned with the Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Barbering licensure requirements.

Program Requirements

This program offers a Certificate and an Associate in Occupational Technologies Degree in Barbering with a minor in Business Management.

The AOT degree combines barbering coursework with coursework in business management to prepare students as barbers and for salon management and entrepreneurship opportunities.

The Certificate in Barbering prepares students for barbering positions in a variety of establishments such as salons, retirement homes, and cruise lines.
