The Department of Education selects applications for Verification. You can reduce your chances of being selected by applying over the internet and by applying using the IRS Data Retrieval System. We do not know in advance if you will be selected and will not request verification of information until after receiving your Student Aid Report (SAR). If your SAR is selected by the Department of Education for Review, you must go through a process called Verification.
Verification for 2020-2021
If applying for 2020-2021 and your SAR information indicates that you have been selected for review in a process called verification, you must submit the following:

•A copy of your 2018 Federal tax transcript including W-2s and other IRS documents. If you are married, you will need a copy of your and your spouse’s tax transcripts. If you are a dependent student, you will need a copy of your parent(s)’ 2018 Federal tax transcripts including W2s and all other IRS documents. **We can temporarily accept Federal tax returns until further notice.
