Class Piano I

These courses, to be taken in sequence, present fundamentals of keyboard technique for students with little or no previous training. Emphasis is placed on the rudiments of music, basic performance technique and general musicianship. Upon completion of one or a sequence of courses, students should be able to demonstrate a basic proficiency in playing and a knowledge of music fundamentals.

Literature appropriate for class level is studied. Upon completion of one or a sequence of courses, students should be able to demonstrate a basic proficiency in singing and a knowledge of music fundamentals. A minimum grade of ?C? is required to progress to next level.

Group instruction is available in voice, piano, strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion and fretted instruments for students with little or no previous training. Upon completion of one or a sequence of courses, students should be able to demonstrate a basic proficiency in singing or playing and a knowledge of music fundamentals.
