PREREQUISITE: As required by program. This course is designed to provide the student with the knowledge to install, or repair gas and electric ranges, cook-tops and ovens including microwave ovens. This course is designed to provide an In Home Service Professional with the skills and knowledge to correctly and efficiently diagnose, and repair residential ranges and microwaves. Upon completion of the course students should be able to trace wiring diagrams, understand the sequence of operation, properly use test equipment, and disassemble and reassemble ranges, cook-tops, and ovens.

This course emphasizes the proper service, repair and installation of these two major household appliances. Upon completion students should understand and be able to apply correctly and efficiently diagnose and repair residential clothes washers and dishwashers.

Upon completion of the course students should be able to trace wiring diagrams, understand the sequence of operation, properly use test equipment, and disassemble and reassemble dryers.
