Fall 2023 GRADUATION STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS

Participating graduates must follow the steps below 
to participate in the graduation ceremony.




Fall Commencement Ceremony

The Lawson State Community College Fall Commencement Exercises are just a few months away.  To assist you in this process we have listed important information concerning our fall ceremony commencement activities.  Please follow each step below to ensure you can participate in the ceremony.  (Note:  You must have completed or enrolled in all degree requirements in order to participate in the Fall Commencement Ceremony which is Friday, December 15, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. on Birmingham campus in the Gymnasium.) 

Note:  All Graduates should Arrive at the Gymnasium on the Birmingham Campus by 8:30am for Check-in for Ceremony on Friday, December 15, 2023.

 Step 1: Make sure you have completed an Applied for Graduation and completed the Commencement Activities for the Ceremony (check email for Link): 


 

Note: This meeting is to provide vital information about the upcoming Fall 2023 commencement ceremony as well as how to receive your awards.  All candidates participating in the commencement ceremony are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting. 


Step 2:  Cap and Gown Order & Deadline (Mandatory for Ceremony Participants)

The caps and gowns will be ordered via an online link and can be picked-up from the Birmingham Campus Bookstore.  To order and receive a cap and gown, please click  HERE to complete a cap and gown order form no later than Wednesday, October 25, 2023..  

For questions regarding pickup and delivery, please email the bookstore manager directly at 1521mgr@follett.com. 

Step 3:  A. Check your information in your MyLawson to make sure your Contact Information is up-to-date.  
B.  Confidentiality checked on your records will cause your name to not be displayed in the Graduation Program.

Note:  Inaccurate telephone numbers, personal email address or mailing address will delay mailing of your awards.
Step 4:  Attend Graduation Rehearsal (mandatory) !!!!

All graduates who desire to participate in the Spring Graduation Commencement Exercises MUST BE PRESENT FOR REHEARSAL

Rehearsal Dates:  

Location:  Arthur Shores Gymnasium - Birmingham Campus

Wednesday, December 13th, 1:30 p.m. 

 

The Commencement Exercise is December 15, 2023 at the Arthur Shores Gymnasium - Birmingham Campus, 3060 Wilson Road SW, Birmingham, AL 35221.    



Step 5:  Graduation Exit Survey - (Mandatory)  All Graduates


CAP/GOWN AND TICKET PICK UP INFORMATION

The Fall 2023 Commencement Ceremony tickets and Regalia's (Cap/Gown) are ready for pickup starting TBA. The pickup locations, dates, and times are as follows (**Please note the hours of operations are subject to change**):
