On March 15, 2021, Dr. Cynthia T. Anthony was officially named President of Lawson State Community College. Dr. Anthony is the fifth president to serve the College and the first female appointed to lead this historic institution. She brings over 30 years of higher education experience to the job and has a wealth of knowledge to lead Lawson State in the 21st Century.

Welcome to Lawson State Community College! Lawson State is an institution with a rich history of academic achievement and an unmatched record of community leadership and service. The College is proud of its ability to provide seamless administrative processes and educational support services for students and other constituents. As President, I am committed to student success and excellence in teaching and learning. Consequently, the College offers an affordable and flexible education that is comprehensive, innovative, technology rich and designed to meet the diverse education needs of constituents in Jefferson County. The College has positioned itself to equip, engage, and empower students to be active and responsible participants in the educational process as well as in future endeavors. This can be accomplished through face-to-face instruction as well as virtual and online courses.
I look forward to having you as a part of Lawson State's dynamic campus community where faculty and staff are committed to providing a variety of workforce development training and occupational programs as well as transferable courses for a smooth transition to four year colleges and universities.
