One of the reasons why Lawson State Community College is a Top 5 ranked community college is the SPACE Center. The SPACE Center, which is part of Lawson State Community College's QEP, is designed to equip, engage and empower students through it outreach services. The SPACE Center is available on both campuses and provides students with free tutoring, advising, counseling and targeted seminars. This multi-faceted center is dedicated to providing students with the necessary support in order to stay in school and excel academically and socially.
The S.P.A.C.E Center (Student Persistence through Assistance and Collaborative Efforts) is a centralized resource center used to combine academic and non-academic support services to aid students in achieving their academic goals.
SPACE Center Locations & Hours of Operation:
Birmingham Campus: Academic Success Center, Room 220. The Birmingham location is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.
Bessemer Campus: Building "A", Rm. 105. The Bessemer location is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
