If a Federal Financial Aid recipient withdraws before completing 60% of the semester/term, federal regulations require Lawson State to return a prorated amount to the Department of Education. The student will be required to pay all or part of any Financial Aid awarded to them. 

Other  2015-2016 Forms may be required in addition to the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid): for Fall 2015, Spring 2016, and Summer 2016 and any terms or sessions within those time frames. The Department of Education will not make the renewal application process available for the 2016-2017 cycle until January 1, 2016.

All renewal-eligible applicants will use the Web to reapply for aid because paper Renewal FAFSAs will no longer be printed and mailed. All renewal-eligible applicants can access the Renewal FAFSA on the Web using their PIN  to access 2015/2016 information, however,  in order to complete, sign, and submit a 2016-2017 Renewal FAFSA on or after January 1, 2016, students and parents will need to create a FSA Student ID which replaces the Personal Identity Number (PIN).

Each aid applicant who meets the eligibility requirements for a 2016-2017 Renewal FAFSA by January 12, 2016, will be sent a Renewal Reminder e-mail or a Renewal Reminder letter between January 17, 2016 and February 16, 2016. With the elimination of the paper Renewal FAFSA, it is particularly important that renewal-eligible students receive a Renewal Reminder, which informs them that they can use the Web to reapply for aid. The Department encourages students to update their address and e-mail address on their 15/16 SAR to ensure the most current e-mail and mailing address information is present.
