Lawson State Community College is a comprehensive community college offering over 50 programs of study in the areas of academic transfer, allied health, business, technical, and transportation.  Classes are taught days, evenings, weekends, and online providing academic education for transfer to four-year colleges and universities and skill training specifically designed to meet the occupational goals of students and employment needs of businesses and industries of central Alabama. Lawson State has an enrollment of approximately over 6,000 students in its College Transfer, Career Technical, and Non-Credit Divisions.

Business and Information Technologies

Economics Instructor - Must have at least 18 hours of coursework (graduate level) in Economics (Day and Evening).

 

Accounting Instructor - Must have at least 18 hours of coursework (graduate level) in Accounting (Day Only).

 

Computer Science - Must have at least 18 hours of coursework (graduate level) in Computer Science and knowledgeable of Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  (Day Only).

Automotive Instructors

The Alabama Center for Automotive Excellence is currently seeking part-time evening and/or weekend instructors to teach automotive technology.  ASE certification required.  Instructors are expected to assist in maintaining requirements of NATEF standards.  The Alabama Center for Automotive Excellence is a division of Lawson State Community College.  For more information contact: Charles Murray, 929-3433.

Diesel Instructors

Nursing Clinical Associate - Minimum requirement:  BSN, current license, and 3 years recent nursing experience.

 

Liberal Arts and Sciences

Minimum requirement:  Master's Degree and 18 graduate semester hours in field.

Application Process:

    Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and must submit a complete application packet by the stated deadline in order to be considered for any full-time position.  Submission of a complete packet by the deadline is the responsibility of the applicant.  A complete application packet consists of the following items: 

     

    (1) A letter of application (cover letter) with reference to position title as found on    

          the Job Vacancy Announcement

    (2) A completed and signed Lawson State Community College Application for

          Employment

    (3) A current resume

    (4) Three (3) current and relevant letters of reference

    (5) Transcripts from all colleges attended (official or unofficial) 

     

    PLEASE NOTE:  Additional items are required for some positions.  Please refer to the

    Job Vacancy Announcement for specific requirements of the application packet. 

    Finalists will be required to provide official transcripts that are mailed directly to the Office of Human Resources at Lawson State Community College from the institution(s) granting the credits.  Only complete application packets received by the stated deadline will be given consideration for this position.
